I was thrilled to be informed by Amazon.com today that I had sold a copy of my historical romance novelette, Maggie and the Stubborn Swede, on my initial launch date. Although the reader may just see this as another serial romance, for me it was the culmination of a dream, to publish my own work under my own name.
Nameless reader, where ever you are, I humbly thank you for taking the time to download and read my work of historical fiction.
I hope that every one who reads these books enjoys the characters and the reality of life in the Old West in the late 1800’s. I have been surprised at many things that were done and said by the settlers, some innovations that were achieved, and the magnitude of their losses and courage.
It is such an inspiration to read the diaries and newspaper accounts of trying times, and realize in our modernity we have the same troubles and concerns, just different gadgets and technology to overcome the little stuff, but the big stuff is all the same. My characters, like my friends and family, long for security, love, affection and a chance for independent living.
I pray each of us especially has the opportunity for love.
It’s never too late for happily ever after
